Airports of Morocco (formerly the National Airports Office – ONDA) has reached a new milestone in the digital transformation of air travel with the progressive rollout of fully mobile boarding passes.
Passengers can now complete their airport journey using a paperless boarding pass available directly on their smartphones. This development reflects a commitment to simplifying the passenger experience and adapting airport services to new digital practices.
Through the Pax Check system, travelers can extend their online journey all the way to airport terminals. After completing check-in via their airline’s application or website, passengers receive a boarding pass in the form of a secure QR code, which can be used at various checkpoints throughout the airport.
As document checks are carried out in advance by airlines in accordance with regulatory requirements, passengers can access boarding areas and automated gates more easily, without the need to print their boarding pass.
This innovation reduces reliance on paper documents, streamlines passenger flows within terminals, and enhances travel comfort. It is also part of the modernization and digital transformation of Morocco’s airport infrastructure, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and security.
The rollout of Pax Check will be gradual and will apply to airlines that have met the technical, operational, and regulatory requirements necessary for its implementation.
By digitizing the boarding pass, Airports of Morocco is taking another step toward building a smarter, faster, and more connected airport journey, responding to the growth of air traffic and the expectations of today’s travelers.
