FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his pride on Thursday in taking part in the celebrations marking the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors, describing his presence in Morocco for the occasion as “a true honor.”
Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the official reception hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in M’diq to commemorate Throne Day, Infantino expressed his delight at being in Morocco.
“I feel at home in this great country, the Kingdom of Morocco, as I join the celebrations of Throne Day,” he said, highlighting the close ties he has developed with the Kingdom.
The FIFA President also reiterated his enthusiasm about Morocco co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
According to Infantino, the centenary edition of the tournament will “undoubtedly be the greatest World Cup in history,” thanks to Morocco’s outstanding infrastructure, renowned hospitality, and deep passion for football.
Gianni Infantino praised the extraordinary passion of the Moroccan people for football, noting that the Kingdom will warmly welcome supporters from around the world during the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
He emphasized that the enthusiasm of Moroccan fans, combined with the country’s organizational capabilities, will make the tournament an exceptional sporting and human experience.
