Morocco will return to legal time, GMT, as of Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 2:00 a.m., with clocks to be set back by 60 minutes, the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform announced.
In a statement, the ministry said that the measure is being implemented in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 2.26.530, published on June 25, 2026, concerning legal time.
The return to GMT is based in particular on Article 1 of the decree, which provides for a return to the legal time established under the first chapter of Royal Decree No. 455.67 of June 2, 1967, relating to legal time.
The ministry also noted that, pursuant to Article 2 of the aforementioned decree, Decree No. 2.18.855 of October 26, 2018, concerning legal time, is repealed as of the date set for the time change.
Accordingly, during the night from Saturday to Sunday, clocks will be set back by 60 minutes at 2:00 a.m., marking Morocco’s return to GMT.
