Morocco has announced the launch of the Rally IA Future Lab, a major national initiative designed to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and reinforce the Kingdom’s technological sovereignty. The program, launched by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, reflects Morocco’s growing commitment to digital transformation, innovation, and human capital development.
The initiative builds on the momentum of the “AI Made in Morocco” strategy and seeks to position artificial intelligence as a key driver of economic competitiveness, public sector modernization, and technological independence. By bringing together researchers, engineers, students, entrepreneurs, developers, and public and private stakeholders, the program aims to create innovative AI solutions tailored to the needs of citizens, businesses, and government institutions.
The inaugural edition of Rally IA Future Lab will take place from June 16 to 20, 2026, in Merzouga, located in the Drâa-Tafilalet region. The first gathering will bring together approximately 1,000 participants, with the initiative expected to expand over time to reach up to 5,000 participants across multiple cohorts throughout the Kingdom.
Over five days, participants will engage in an intensive program combining training, experimentation, prototyping, and mentorship. The objective is to encourage the emergence of high-impact projects in areas such as public service modernization, administrative efficiency, digital inclusion, and economic competitiveness.
The program also builds on the success of the RamadanIA Hackathon, which was deployed across Morocco’s twelve regions and attracted more than 700 participants and around 50 mentors. The competition highlighted the creativity and potential of young Moroccan talents while showcasing innovative AI-driven solutions with real-world applications.
Through Rally IA Future Lab, Morocco aims to establish a sustainable innovation framework focused on skills development, experimentation, and the transformation of ideas into operational solutions. The initiative further reinforces the Kingdom’s ambition to become a leading emerging player in artificial intelligence at both regional and international levels.
